How to Contribute

If you would like to support research to help end myotonic dystrophy, you may do so by making or pledging to make a tax-deductible gift to the Run America Foundation (a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation). If you would like to make such a gift or pledge, please contact Craig Johnston either by phone at 503-768-6713, by email at craigj@lclark.edu , or by U.S. mail at

If you prefer to make your contribution online, you can do so through our partner, the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation (a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation). Be sure to select "Run America III" in the event box, and the funds will be directed toward this event. Click here to make your online contribution now.

You may make either a lump-sum or per-mile gift or pledge. If you make a per-mile gift or pledge, remember that the total distance traveled will be 830 miles. Some sample per-mile pledges and the amounts that they would generate are provided below:

5 cents per mile = $ 41.50
10 cents per mile = $ 83.00
15 cents per mile = $124.50
20 cents per mile = $166.00
50 cents per mile = $415.00

If you make a pledge via email, please also include your mailing address.

Pledges will not become due until the runners have completed the relay. If you would prefer to send a check immediately, please feel free to do.

If you would like to consider a corporate sponsorship or to otherwise support the relay effort by helping us to defray expenses through either a monetary or in-kind contribution, please contact Craig Johnston through any of the above means. Any monetary contributions that are not specifically earmarked as being intended to cover expenses will be assumed to be directed toward the research effort and will be treated as such. (We are particularly interested in seeking to defray the expenses of those runners who are still full-time law students; any monetary contributions earmarked for expenses will first be allocated toward those runners' expenses.)

Thank you in advance for whatever help you may decide to provide.
